Founder, Publicist and Fan of Books
As an author the demands on your time is great. You have to work your full-time job and then there are the demands of family life. Many times you have been unable to find the time to market your book. If you take these 5 simple steps you will be able to market and promote your book via social media by only taking 15 minutes a day.
When you devote 15 minutes a day to book marketing that gives you 7.5 hours each month. This is plenty of time to make an impact on the life of one reader at a time.
Step 1: I recommend writing at least 15 short posts each for Facebook, Twitter, Linked In. Taking the hour to do this will result in having a little over 2 weeks of posts at the ready. You will have a small selection of posts you can schedule in the near future. When writing them keep them short, entertaining and straight to the point.
Step 2: Find the right scheduling and posting tool for your circumstances. There are multiple tools to pick from. For example, there is Hootsuite,  Buffer, or SocialOomph. By finding the right tool you will be able to schedule your posts and have them go out automatically.
Step 3:  Learn to check social media only once and twice a day. Social media can be distracting and many individuals find it hard to stay focus and on task. Set a timer if you must and set a pre-selected time to check your sites once a day.
Step 4: Write and send an email once a week. When you create a newsletter your followers will begin to expect to see it every week. Writing a newsletter should only take 1 hour at the most.  By using software like Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, and others it will save you the time of maintaining your lists.
Step 5: Reach out to five people via phone, email or on social media. Engaged and intrigued readers buy books. Would you like to bring awareness to your book or story? The best way is to reach out and touch five individual lives a day. By reaching out and engaging, at least, five people a day you increase your circle of influence. By growing your circle of influence every day, you will see better results than purchasing thousands of dollars in advertising. Those you end up impacting in a positive way will help spread your circle of influence organically.
By making the most of your 15 minutes a day, you will find that it will give you focus and allow you to focus on one reader at a time. So if you have 15 minutes a day to spend on marketing your book you can have success.
